Print Server Migration with DEM

Hello, we need to migrate our print server. All printer settings should be mapped from the old to the new host name of the new print server. Since we capture all printer settings with DEM, the question is how to best handle the procedure. Basically, from my understanding, "only" all registry keys from the connections "\\ ServerA \ .." to \\ ServerB \ .. " have to be changed ..?!

Has anyone of you done something like this before? Thanks for hints!

Here is our (Standard) config-file for Printert-DEM-Settings:

Hi @burgerking68,

(I was off for a few days, and started working through the new forum posts in reverse chronological order, as you've already seen 😊.)

There's nothing available out of the box that would do what you're looking for. Our Application Migration feature can only "reorganize" the structure of settings (renaming, adding, deleting, moving registry values and keys); it has no features to tweak the data itself.

If you can script the changes you want to apply to the settings captured in the .REG file, you can use FlexEngine's COM interface to "edit" the users' profile archives.

The smartest thing would be create a vbscript or other scriptlet and rename the printers, then DEM wil capture this again. When we did a printserver migration with local profiles we renamed the serverA to serverB etc.
