Office 365 Shared Settings not working correctly - need to exclude a Registry Value

Hello Team,

I have a weird problem with the Office 365 "Shared Settings". It captures, among other things, a registry value called "ProviderId" which leads sometimes to an account error, so that the user needs to re-login into Office 365 account. See screenshot ...

The value can be found here:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities\

Under the Identity-Key are two different Keys. One with a row a numbers ans letters (number 1. in screenshot) and ending with "_ADAL" and one with my "firstname.surname@domain" ending "_AD" (number 3. in screenshot).

Both Reg-Keys contain the value "ProviderId". If I delete the "ProviderId" value in 1. the account error disappeares. Or the other way is to delete the whole DEM "Shared Settings.zip" and re-login.

My question: How can I exclude this value if I have a kind of randomized key in the registry tree? Or maybe better how to exclude the whole Key?

and ... Does anybody knows why to save the "Shared Seettings"? I don't really see any disadvantages because deleting this "Shared Settings.zip" results in no error or something like this.

Has someone from the Team an idea how to realize the exclusion?

Thank you very much for your input. And yes, it seems so that problem with the profile error is solved.

But ... Outlook always asks for my password. All other apps work fine, inkluding MS Teams. We are using Shared Computer Activation.

Do you have an idea what could be wrong?

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you continue to have issue in getting DEM capture user settings. is it possible i can get a log file from impacted users, logs files should be located "\\Networkpath\UEMProfile\%username%\Logs\FlexEngine.log"

Are this VDI non-persistent or persistent? How was O365 Installed? You can follow installation process

https://techzone.vmware.com/resource/best-practices-delivering-microsoft-office-365-vmware-horizon-7

XML Configuration file can be created  from the link: https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings

Hello!

I know this guide and I followed him in detail. We are using O365 in a non-persistant VDI environment with Shared Computer Activation.

Attached you will find my created XML-file for installation.

I have set the log level to debug. But it contains too much personal information on more than 260 lines. Can I send it privatly to you?

Best regards, Tom
