MS Edge/Web Credential Manger persisting credentials

Jump to solution

Hello All,

I am using the Default config for persisting data in MS edge; However, when Edge asks if a user would like to save a password, the password is lost after a reboot with instant clones.

After doing a little digging, it appears that Edge uses the Windows Web Credential Manager to store saved user names and passwords.   Is there anyway to capture this data with the UEM and bring it back to the user at next logon?

Win10 1803

Thanks Rob

If the password is getting stored in Windows Web Credential Manager, you can update your 'IE Passwords' UEM config file with the below settings.

[IncludeFolderTrees]

<AppData>\Microsoft\Protect

<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Vault

<AppData>\Microsoft\Vault

<AppData>\Microsoft\Credentials

<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Credentials

Hope this helps!
