Im trying to import the Vmware Common template , vdm_common.admx and getting this error. Any ideas why?

Looks like the corresponding vdm_common.adml file is not valid according to its XML schema:
You can fix this by opening that file in Notepad and setting that defaultItem attribute to "0".
