Chrome slow to launch, sometimes user's passwords not copied back

Hi,

I've had some users complain about Chrome passwords not being saved and that Chrome is slow to launch, sometimes 2-3 mins.  I've found the user's passwords are being saved and do return on other logins, but it's hit and miss.  I'm guessing it's a timing thing when DEM copies back Chrome settings.  I set up Chrome Import/Export a few years ago with some custom exclusions and I'm guessing with newer versions of Chrome there may be some incompatibilities.  Am I on the right track?  Insights?

Cheers,

James

Here is my Chrome setup, anything look wrong?

Hi,

I had this same issue a while back and I made a custom import/export config as shown below.

Before I implemented the below configuration, the .zip archive files were getting up to 300MB in size and afterwards they were down to less than 20MB.

Obviously those 20MB still may require a little bit of time to copy over so the user should not be in a rush to open Chrome immediately.

I see in your settings you did not add any exclusions for the folders that are not inside the Default/Profile 1/Profile 2 folders.

Chrome is a really storage-intensive app for a user´s profile.

Here are the settings I used:

Thanks for that - I've been looking to cut some of the Chrome "bloat" out!  Will give this a try! 😀
