Can we use UEM to control the user's Default Audio recording device?

I'm trying to determine if I can use UEM to pre-set the default Recording device for a user. Or at least retain their selection.

We are using Dragon, with USB pass-thru of a Power-Mic...but windows always defaults to the wrong device.

The user will have to open Sound settings (control.exe mmsys.cpl) and choose the Recording device.

I've seen solutions that use a third party utility called NIRCMD.exe to manage it, but I'd like to use UEM if possible.  Keep it simple.

Has anyone figured out a UEM based solution for this yet?

Hi John,

Create a "custom application profile" and past below entry's under import/export tab.

[IncludeRegistryTrees]

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ApplicationAssociationToasts

[IncludeIndividualRegistryValues]

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserSignedIn

Please provide me feedback.

Thank you.
