windows server 2003 does not support the buslogic scisi adapter

Hi

Get the following error massage when starting virtual host. Virtual host start fine. Just wondered why this error massage shows up.

Converted the server onto and ESX 3.5 U3 box with enterprise convertor.

Message on NAME on NAMEVS in ha-datacenter: Your guest operating system is windows server 2003 and you have one or more virtual scsi devices installed in your virtual machine. Please be aware that windows server 2003 does not support the buslogic scisi adapter that vmware esx server currently uses for its virtual scsi devices. if you have not done so already, you need to install our driver in the virtual machine. You can download..... Click OK to conitinue or Cancel to abort.

Thanks

This is no error message - just a warning - ignore it

?

2k3 natively supports LSI-controllers as used by VMware.

When your 2k3 boots this means you either simply use a LSI-controller for the virtual hardware or you already added a driver for the BUS-logic controller.

If you want check the vmx-file - you can look it up there.

If the vmx says

scsi0.virtualDev = lsilogic

this means your VM use the LSI-logic controller

If the vmx says

scsi0.virtualDev = buslogic

or doesn't have such an entry it uses a virtual BUS-logic controller

So in both cases this message is just a warning that you can ignore - or click away for ever
