vmodl.fault.InvalidType trying to import Virtual Server images to ESX3.0

The first migration I attempted seemed to be working but failed during the network copy of the virtual disks.

Since then, any attempt to any virtual server vm's fails instantly with an error:

Virtual Machine Import was Unsuccessful

We're sorry, but we are unable to import your virtual machine.

An internal error has occured (vmodl.fault.InvalidType). Please contact VMWare for support or additional information.

I'm going to remove & re-install Virtual Machine Importer beta and also try with a fresh install of ESX.. but if anyone knows the cause of this issue I'd be grateful.

Cheers

This is probably because you are using the current beta version of VM Importer 2.0 to import VMs to the RC release of ESX 3.0. There will be a new release of VM Importer 2.0 that will be compatible with the RC release soon.

Gautam,

Any news on when the new release of Importer will be out to support RC release of ESX 3?

An announcement regarding the availability of the latest version should be coming \*very* soon.
