I'm trying to convert a microsoft virtual and I get the following error: "source virtual machines is paused" To convert it, please shut down and close the virtual machine.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Lance
Yes, convert it by leaving the VM powered on and selecting "physical machine" within Converter.
still looking for ideas. I tried adding the directory line in the config to match where it's currently at, but to no avail.... maybe I need the converter that costs about $1500? Here's the config:
where do you receive this error exactly?
Here's the log from the converter:

I'm looking for a spot in the config to change the ISVMsupended to false.....
Just to make sure, you've gone back to your MS VM, powered it on, and then powered it off completely? Converter cannot convert a VM that is suspended/hibernated.
I'll have to reinstall MS... it's been blown out... everything's in vm..
I'll let you know my findings... back in 30 minutes...:)
Well, I loaded the MS and noticed in the config that the guy who created it has the shut down set to "save state".. I changed it shut down, saved the config'
Rebooted the box, shut it down properly. The config also said it made the necessary change.
Unfortunately I'm getting the same error. I'm now trying to convert the image like it's a live server, we'll see how that goes...
Any other tips would be welcomed...

It's at about 8%, this is a slow convert. only 20 gigs...
