host reboot when starting imported vitrual server

I imported a VirtualServer. When starting the VMware guest, the guest hangs after login. The VMware Virtual Machine console hangs and the host machine reboots. The console reports loosing its connection when the host reboots. The same VirtualServer imported with importer 1.5 works ok.

Can you post the VirtualServer VM so we can take a look at it?

Information for Customers:

Server Name : ftpsite.vmware.com

Username : inbound

Password : inbound

Method : passive FTP

Notes : Customers logging in with the above information

from outside the VMware network can not delete

or rename files or download any files, even the

file they just uploaded.

Could you give us a few more details about the VM you were importing?

Mainly,

1) Were you using Microsoft's Virtual Server product or VMware's VMServer product?

2) What was the target product for your VM?

3) What was the Guest OS in the VM

It would be great if you could post the logs of the import and provide us with either the source VM we used or just post the vmx/vmc file here. You could also email the file to us at vmi2-betafeedback@vmware.com so that we can better diagnose the problem.

Thanks,

Gautam

I removed the bad guest and was unable to recreate the error.

As its not possible to recreate the error this question can be closed.

I'm glad to hear that your problem was resolved, but it would be useful for us to know what was causing the initial failure and fix it if we can. If it is convenient for you, it would be great if you could provide us the information in my earlier post.

Thanks for the feedback!

I used VMware Virtual Importer 2 (2.0.0.21909)

The host was W2003 (no SP)

GSX 3.2.1 build 19281
