When I convert a machine with a data drive that is a dynamic disk I end up with an extended partition for the data drive. Is there a way to force the drive to come out as a basic drive, primary partition?

in such a cased I would exclude that drive from the Import and use robocopy to copy the data into a disk that fits your needs
