converter 3.0 cold clone will not boot

trying to p2v and older compac machine. it is running linux, not that it should matter at this point. help:

I place boot cd in drive and boot machine.

I see the starting with the booting bar on bottom of screen. everything looking good.

gets to end of screen and just stays there. I never get the pretty splash screen or anything else. I don't see any activity on the machine, lights seem to be silent.

I have waited about 15 minutes before I give up and reboot the machine back into production.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to use the peTool utility to create a boot CD with the correct drivers for your box. You can download the tool in the VM Converter download section.

thanks for the reply. after doing some research on petool. Have tried other method. actually moved harddrive to another machine to make clone from there.
