conversion fails @ 11%

The converter was installed and ran by the local administrator account. There's plenty of available disk space on all destination drives and they are all formatted as NTFS volumes. I've defragged the disk and enabled the Volume Shadow Copy service. For every scenario, the GUI displays the error:

ERROR: Failed to take snapshot of a source volume.

Possible causes include not having any NTFS volumes on Windows XP or Windows 2003 source systems,

and not having enough free disk space.

Also for every scenario, this line appears in the vmware-converter-#.log:

2008-03-28 14:01:38.967 'App' 2480 verbose Vsnap does not have admin rights

It takes 3 hours to get to this point. Has anyone run into this before? Any help would be appreciated,

You need to attach the entire log instead of just 1 line.

It might be you have a file or a drive lock somewhere? You can try shutting down all applications:

To do so:

Click Start --> enter "msconfig" (without quotes)

Click on the "services" tab

Check the box for "hide all Microsoft services"

Select "disable all", then re-check the VMware services

Select the "startup" tab

Select "disable all" then re-check the VMware startup items

Reboot
