can converter KEEP the original IP address and NIC assignments?

we found that the dest VM switcheds to "Obtain IP address"

it will not as the physical network adapter has being "virtualized" those static ip is binded to the original physical card. there is no work around and the only way would be manually reentering them once it is completed.

there are tools like vcenter customization which would allow you to assign IP to a VM and also Platespin Migrate which allow you requested features but it is not free.

Converter will NOT keep the IPs by design - however you can use netshell before P2V to make a backup of the current settings.

then you can apply the netshell script after first boot of the VM.

Use the following command to backup your network configuration:
netsh interface dump > netcfg.dat

Use the following command to restore your network configuration:
netsh exec netcfg.dat
