Hi Guys,
I have a windows NT machine (SP6) which I need to convert into Virtual Machine.
When Using Remote installation to do so I was getting the following error while Agent installation : Unknown Error Generated from client.
When I tried to manually install the agent on NT machine I got the following error:
"Internal Error 2755, 1632,
vmware agent.msi"
Please Help.
Regards
Ashwini
Couple of things I'd try - rather than installing the agent on the NT box install the converter software directly onto it and see if you have any luck. Failing that, try using the older P2V assistant software. It at least gives more detailed error messages which you can use to resolve the problems on the NT box. You could also bring the image across with a 3rd party imaging software (like ghost) then convert the image with P2VA.
Hope this helps............
I figured out what the problem was. When I was unable to install the agent I started the MSI exec in Logging mode using command prompt.
What I saw was that the MSI was unable to create the desired folders wherever it wanted.
Since I was installting it using Administrator account; It could not have been an account issue.
I tried giving all these folders write access for SYSTEM account and it worked. So I guess the Agent MSI uses system account to create it's files and folders in NT where it fails :).
Plus I also think that this problem arrived as this process is being done on a BDC server.
Thanx Anyways for the help.
Ashwini
