VMware vCenter Converter standalone 6.2 installation fails with error 1053

Hello Community,

I am trying to install VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.2 on local jump server (Windows 2016) in order to perform v2v of a few VMs. However, installation of the VMware vCenter Server Converter standalone 6.2 fails/aborts at the end with following error:-

"VMware vCenter Converter is installed but not running. When VMware vCenter Converter is not running you will not be able to connect to local server.
Please go to Control Panel > Administration > Services .."

In fact, VMware vCenter Converter services (Server, agent, worker) don't start after installation completes.

- My local server has limited Internet connectivity i.e. it can connect to vmware.com etc.

- Port 443 is not open on local jump server

- If I try to start the services, I get following error:-

"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

Please help fix this.

Hello Community,

I resolved the issue by following the KB # 64993. Just follow the steps mentioned under the Resolution part of the KB.
