Hello,

If the issue is still relevant, could you please examine or post the installation log file? It's full path is "%TEMP%\vminst.log". Since it is in temp folder, you may need to retry the installation and then look the log up.

Regards,

Plamen

Do you have any security policy ,EDR or antivirus software.

There may be a rule or security software that prevents the service from starting, you can try to disable them. You can review the KB below for details.

Yes this is really a pain.

This software seems not to be able to run in disconnected environments, but compliance reasons do not allow us to use it otherwise, so VMware please fix this annoying behavour.

We found out that the software tries to connect to the following sites when started:

www.digicert.com
ocsp.digicert.com
crl3.digicert.com
crl.microsoft.com
www.microsoft.com
ocsp2.globalsign.com
crl.globalsign.com
ocsp.globalsign.com

So seems that for this reason timeout issues prevent the services from starting properly.

Anybody have any idea how to stop this?

Kind Regards

What kind of compliance do you prefer Standalone Converter for? I've done a lot of conversions and veeam has been the most effective application I've used.

We prefere it for being from the same vendor as the virtualisation environment we use, and that is VMware. Wo do not want to bring an additional vendor into play if not necessary.
