there is an option at the end of the wizard in which you could modify the virtual disk and there is an option to select thin disk.
are you sure? i don't see the option anywhere
where is it exactly? i'm using cold clone with cd convertercd-4.1.1-206170
thanks in advance
sorry, i was referring to a hot clone. however here is the screenshot. Probably it would be something similiar for cold clone.

hope it helps.
thans a lot, but this option isn't on cold cloning and i don't understand why VMware don't allow creating thin disk in cold cloning
regards
thanks and i learn something new here. however if you have storage vmotion, you could then do a thin to think using it after the completion of the conversion.
Yes, we know that it's posible to change from thick to thin, but on large disks this operation takes a lot time and it needs a diferent storage, and our customers normally don't have any of those things
thanks anyway
coldclone to USB-disk
then upload/convert the vmdk with vmware-vdiskmanager to ESX
you need to have Workstation installed on a Windows-admin host
