VMware Converter Enterprise ver. 4.0.0 "import machine halts on 2%"

Hi all,

We just installed our first bladeserver and i have converted 9 machines to VMware.

This is the setup:

SWLNAVIM01 = 192.168.101.10

SWLNABLADE01 = 192.168.101.71

SWSTOGED01 = 192.168.101.175

When i start to convert 192.168.101.175 it jumps directly to 2%, and halts there.

The day after it was still on 2% (250GB total). So i ended the job.

I attached the log.

I have tried to convert other machines and they halts at 2% also.

What do i do wrong?

Cloning failed!

Looks like a manual cancel as you said. No other visible errors.

Are you resizing the disks? If so, try defraging the machine first.

Is this over a WAN by chance?

Doublecheck any DNS or NIC duplex settings.

You can also try using the standalone install of converter version 3.0.2-u1 (www.vmware.com/downloads/converter). With this you can follow the best practice guide - http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004588 It will also produce slightly different logs which might help identify the issue. But for the most part it appears like some sort of timeout.
