Dear Community,
I used the VMware Converter Standalone Client to migrate successfully a HYPER-V VM (powered off) to VMware ESXi 7.x Host.
In the Options I set "Install VMware Tools". The VM Migration and customizing was fine.
But it seems that the vmware-tools-package is to old for 7.x. I got the Message "unsupported vmware tools" on the vCenter VM Summary.
If found a "upgrader.exe" in the following Path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone\vmware-tools"
Is it possible to update/upgrade is vmware-tools Package?
Thank you and best Regards,
xParzi

Hi Ajay1988,
thanks for your answer. Okay, then I will leave the "Install VMware Tools" Checkbox unchecked and will install the VMware Tools from ESXi.
If Converter is out of support , What is the VMware recommended and supported tool for P2V migrations?
Its a great question.
I used the Converter again for the last Hyper-V to VMware Migration. But with more manually doings (like install VMware Tools manually).
vmware converter is still a support product and this issue is still around.
Yeah it seems that they changed there mind (good boi VMware). We used the Version 6.3.0 for V2V some days ago.
It’s still being used latest version is 6.3 we use it still now and then
