Hello,
I trying to copy a vm that's on an old amd processor to another system with a newer socket amd processor using the latest vm converter standalone. I get the following error "Unable to validate the destination. Error:vmodl.fault.SystemError" the esxi 5.1 versions are the same on both servers and the difference is the older is regular SATA vs SATA raid controller on the newer system. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The VM that im trying to move over is Windows 2008 R2 64 bit.
Thanks

Could you verify that you are *local* administrator of machine and UAC is disabled?
Im running this as a domain user account that has local admin rights and UAC is disabled. I will try local account
Same thing with local admin and UAC turned off on a domain computer
Something is wrong with your destination ESX, could you verify that ESX is accessible - use it as managed source and see the Converter is loogedin and brose the inventory.
Do any services need to be turned on in the security profile firewall for my problematic esxi?

Unfortunatly I don't know, just want to be sure that ESX could be accessed from the Converter.
Copying from the faulty esxi server to the destination works. I just confirmed it just using converter to the faulty esxi as destination keeps failing. Im going to compare firewall rules on both
I rebooted the esxi server and now it’s working. Thanks for the help
