VM Converter Agent Install Failed.

Hi,

I have an emergency project to prepare regarding a medical SERVER.

I need to converter a physical server on VMWARE.

Usually I use vmconverter for that but I have at the beginning of the process

an error :

VmWare converter Agent Install Failed. Problem to install the Agent on the server.

How to do ? Is there workarround to install Vmware Agent on this server ?

Thanks for help, this project as to be done in emergency ...

Patrick.

I am not sure this will work, but you can try to take the file VMware Agent from the vmware folder and put on the server, and install the agent direct on the server, if that is possible.

But i havent testet this.

We're having the same problem ever since we upgraded to VSphere (and using the 4.1 converter plugin).

There seems to be a problem installing the converter agent.

What's funny is that it woks fine using the older 4.0 Standalone Converter.

The best practices document basically tells you to run converter locally on the target machine which isn't an option for us. It talks nothing about problems encountered in the converter wizard before the agent is even installed. No log files to look at.
