V2V online guest fails

Hi All,

Trying to V2V vSphere4 guest machine (2008 R2) to new vSphere5.5, using VMware Converter Standalone5.5.

Source Type: Powered-On Machine.

Fails to start with "permission to perform this operation was denied"

Using Local Admin rights on Converter Server & the Converter Client.

Help?

TIA

Danny

Hi POCEH,

Using the local Admin account, instead of a new account that was added to the Local Admin group, seems to have resolved the issue.  Thanks.

Out of curiosity, why would this fail when using an account with Admin privs (but not the actual Admin account), any specific reason?

TIA

Danny

This is kind of bug, from one side you don't need to be administrator to do V2V, from other side - this guarantee that you'll have access to any VMs especially when VMs are third party or VMware file-based machines... Will be fixed in future version Smiley Happy
