I am running into an issue with converting a physcial to a virtual, and was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
I have a Windows 7 system that I am trying to convert to an ESX Virtual. The drive in the machine is a 300GB drive, but the Windows 7, pluys a hand full of software packages is only 17GB.
I have tried to import the physical system into ESX and it fails each time. I looked through the logs that are generated, and the faliure seems to be when it reaches the c:\windows\winsxs directory. I did some digging on winsxs and found that it is a location where Windows stores multiple versions of dll's for different applications. I don't THINK that is the problem, but you never know.
I hope that someone else here has had this same problem and can point me to the right location for solving it.
Thanks.
