Use VMWare Converter to Convert a BMR image

Hi,

We are in between a transtion phase from one datacentre to another.

Existing datacentre has got production servers (Which are backed up using BMR).

New datacentre is installed with VMWare ESXi 5.

There is no link between these two DCs.

Now there is a requirement to use the existing BMR images and convert those images to virtual machines. Is it possible to do these conversions using VMWare converter or anyother converter?

Note: The new DC doesn't have Symantec NBU.

- Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 and 2005 R2 (.vmc)

BMR is not on that list.
Use the normal procedurte if it is not supported.

1. create new VM
2. boot into BMR LiveCD and restore the image from network
3. do the patching in a second step with Converter 5

Can we boot into the BMR CD and extract the image even we do not have Netbackup setup in the environment?

Can I directly deploy the image to a VM?
