Unable to read the source VM's Registry

When using the Converter to convert a stand alone image, I can browse to the image I wish to import but then get error:

"Unable to read the sourec VM's Registry"[/b]

While Retrieving guest OS.

So I went to another machine with the converter, mapped a drive to the machine in question, and did not get the error. THe machine in question is 2000 server and the machine that did not get the error is 2003

What OS was the image that you were trying to convert? Converter needs to be running on a Windows OS greater than or equal to the VM's Guest OS.

Yes this procedure is correct. I ran accross this once and it turned out to be the same issue you are having..
