All of my appliance images that are usng scsi disks, when i use the converter to convert from Workstation 5 to ESX, it shows the disk as unknown and i cant change the disk size.
Any one know what i can do to be allowed to change the disk size?

Chances are your OS is unsupported (for converter).
Try winSCP'ing your vmdk file(s) to ESX /vmfs
Run the command "vmkfstools -i" to convert the workstation VM to an ESX VM.
