Troubleshooting Wrong IP Address for Converter Enterprise

I am running VC 2.5.0 and managing an ESXi 3.5.0 host which I'm trying to export a virtual machine from. When I right click and choose "Export" I get an error message saying: "Unable to connect to Converter Enterprise server".

The Converter log file contains the following entry:

[2009-05-27 15:10:11.046 'Sysimage' 2180 info] Connecting to host 172.16.1.142 on port 443 using protocol https

[2009-05-27 15:10:32.062 'App' 2180 error] [rpcConnectionWrapper,266] Failed to establish Vim connection to 172.16.1.142. Vmacore::Exception: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

The reason it's failing is because that is no longer the address of the VirtualCenter/Converter server. The IP address has changed. I have not set an address in Administration -> VirtualCenter Management Server Configuration. Besides that option, where else are IP addresses stored? I need to update it so that it has the new IP address.

I don't have a static IP address for it yet, but will soon (I hope - waiting on my network admin).

Yes, that was helpful. Thanks!

I did Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Converter -> Repair and entered the new IP Address. After a restart it works fine.

It's funny because I had been searching for a few hours, but was searching for the error in the log instead of the error message so I never came across that post. Thanks again!
