After installing the current version of the converter standalone client on a Win7 Ultimate 64-bit machine and following reboot, whenever I attempt to run the program I get the following error:
---------------------------
VMware vCenter Converter Standalone
---------------------------
Config file error: not well-formed (invalid token) (line 7)
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
I reran the installer, repair, with same result, then uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result.
I verified the services are running.
The VMWare Player is also installed, both to the default directories.
Ideas?
Scott
Check for connection ports, WS and Converter should be installed to listen on different ports. HTH
The same problem occurs even if the player is not installed.
Check your ports in configuration XML files in "%PROGRAMDATA%\Vmware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone" folder.
The WS folder is empty.
The Converter Standalone folder has port 9089 defined in the worker and agent config files. The server file just has the standard http and https ports defined.
Then check is any other program listening on these ports: 80/443/8089
There is another program using 443 to communicate and it can't be moved. I need to also run that program inside a VM.
During installation there is a screen with ports - you can change them as you want. HTH
