Dear team,
We have overcommitted the disk space to most of the VMs. Now we are planning to reclaim this disk space, for that I need ur help we have 19Win2k8 Servers where we need to resize / reclaim D drive space and we have 3 rhel5 64 bit.
We are planning to perform this activity with the help of vmware converter (V2V). before starting activity what will be the pre-requisite we have to follow
and as per best practice while performing v2v do I need to check or uncheck any option/checkbox which is required to complete v2v process successfully for win2k8 and rhel5 64 bit VMs.
Need complete and details steps to successfully complete v2v process...
regards
Mr VMware
Team need urgent asisstance. ......
During conversion, it gives an option to convert to thick/thin disk along with option to change the disk size.
No specific check box to be enabled for V2V
In the same way Cani resize rhel 5 64 bit vms
You can not resize volumes when doing V2V of a Linux machine, However you can convert it as powered on (thus doing P2V).
Volume resizing and thin/think provisioning are different things. You can change the provisioning type when doing V2V.
