Redhat 5 video failure using Converter Stand Alone

I am running a 64 bit Redhat Enterprise sever and am trying to P2V it.

Using Converter Stand Alone Client 4.01. Build 161434

Server ESXi Version 4.1.0

It will run and fail at 1% with the "FAILED: methodfault.summary" error.

On the server it listed the fault as:

Warning message on RedHat: Insufficient video RAM. The maximum resolution of the virtual

machine will be limited to 1176x885. To use the configured maximum resolution of 2560x1600,

increase the amount of video RAM allocated to this virtual machine by setting svga.vramSize="16384000"

in the virtual machine's configuration file. warning 11/29/2012 2:30:08 PM RedHat root

When this fails it removes the virutal machine and there is no settings file to update.

Any ideas how to get this to work?

Thanks!

If you have a Windows machine, you could try using Converter 5.0.1.

Thanks, I tried it from a Windows Machine and it after a few minutes it fails with:

Unable to obtain the IP address of the helper virtual machine.

I'm trying again using a static IP for the Helper.

"Unable to obtain the IP address of the helper virtual machine" error could mean there is no DHCP server in the target VM network. Is this the case?

Correct, I changed it static and it is at 30%. The farthest it has gotten.

It couldn't get past 1% using the Linux convereter but worked fine with the more recent Windows version.

Thanks!
