Hi Team,
Can we do the Physical to virtual conversion of Solaris machine.. Solaris server's are Sun V445 ,Sun V210 models.
Thanks in advance
The V210 and the V445 are both SPARC models, and as such cannot be virtualized onto vSphere, whih only supports x86.
You'll need to create a new VM, install Solaris x86 and install and find/install a Solaris x86 version of your application.
P2V of Solaris is not supported - or in other words - Converter is useless for this task.
A Coldclone CD could help with the imaging part but for the driver patching part you are on your own.
Instead of using a Coldclone CD you could also use any LiveCD and dump the Solaris disk to a vmdk with dd
Or install Solaris anew in a VM and copy the data from the source 🙂
