P2VError UFAD_SYSTEM_ERROR (The file is too big for the filesystem)

I tried to covert a 400+ GB machine to a ESX and got the following message:

check blocksize you used when formatting VMFS - probably you can't use disks larger 256 Gb because you used smallest available blocksize.

Can you resize to a disk smaller 256Gb ?

Pardon my ignorance, but where would do I check block size at?

My Esx is an evaluation copy, so I'm new to it.

Thanks!

Continum,

You were right. Max is 256GB

If your VMFS datastore has a block size of 1MB, then the largest disk you can have is 256GB. In this case your disk is over 400GB so you will need a VMFS datastore with a larger block size such as 2MB which will allow upto 512GB.
