P2VError UFAD_INTERFACE_MISMATCH

The log has the following messages:

Making sure that UFAD interface has version vmware-ufad-p2v30-build-89816

UFAD interface version is vmware-ufad-p2v30-build-39557

We've just upgraded to Virtual Center 2.5 Build 64201 and are upgrading hosts to ESX Server 3.5 Build 64607.

From where is the UFAD executable installed????

Build 39557 = 3.0.0

Build 89816 = 3.0.3

It sounds like you may have multiple instances of VMware Converter on that system.

Thanks for matching the builds to the versions.

I did have 3.0.0 installed and downloaded 3.0.3. But I uninstalled then installed. Perhaps I need to uninstall ALL vmware products (the converter and the infrastructure client) AND delete the directories then reinstall????

it may refer to your system, or the system you are converting in the case of a remote conversion. When you do a remote conversion, it will install the agent that matches the version on your computer onto the system being converted. The mismatch might be on the remote host too.

Double-check both sides of the equation, and it might be best to reinstall the VMware products from scratch.

I had tried unsuccessfully (process hung at 97%) to convert the target system before, so you may be right.

Have to try to figure out how to find the components installed by the converter on the source system!

Smiley Happy

AMAZING!

Not that I shouldn't have thought of it... just didn't expect a remote install like that to play so nice!

Thanks for the help!
