P2V to External Hard Drive??

I want use find out whether i can use P2V and EXPORT to any External Hard Drive rather than ESX server?

Yes - this works. Just select to create a standalone VM instead of uploading the VM to ESX.

Make sure you create a type of VM that is compatible with ESX. So don't select a WS 6 VM.

A Workstation 6 VM is not an option in Converter 3.0.1-- it's only Workstation 5.x or 4.x which will work with Workstation 6.

Running Workstation 6's Converter function will give the option for a Workstation 6 VM which is not directly compatible with ESX Server 3.
