hi
i have esx server 3.5 and want to convert a 2003 server . this server has MS virtual server 2005 on it and the VM on that machine is running NT4. im trying to find a way to convert the VM first to esx and then convert the 2003 box itself. the MS VM is a vhd file and i cant find anything to open it or convert it. everything is asking for a vmx file etc. any ideas on how to do this???

I am not famailiar with MS virtual server, but does it has a .vmc file associated with the VM. If so, you can try using Converter 4.0, choose "Backup image or third-party virtual machine" as the source and points to the .vmc file.
AFAIK converter4 does not support NT 4 anymore ?
I would use a Cold Clone CD with # 3.0.3

That's right Converter 4.0 does not support NT4 anymore.
Converter 303 does support importing VPC image, while I am not sure about Virtual Server 2005. The vhd format should be the same, not sure about the vmc file format. It won't hurt to give a try.
if you are in no experimental mood ... cold clones should always work

there is no vmc file, its only a vhd.
i booted teh virtual machine into a cold clone and do you know where the question asks about the configuring network parameters, i cant highlight the buttons to click on them cos the keyboard wont work. it works for the other screens b4 it though. so i get stuck there. any ideas??
