P2V convert works, but RHEL5 VM will not boot

Using Converter 4.0.1 it successfully converts a RHEL/CentOs 5 server to a vm on ESX but a boot of the vm fails on trying to mount the volumes:

(see attached jpg for details of errors)

Any idea (a) why this fails, and (b) how to fix it?

From the picture it looks like you are using LVM.

If you want to preserve the LVM volumes, you'll need to use "Cold Cloning". Refer to the Converter user guide.

Can you please export the log bundle from the task and post it? (Select the task in the GUI and export its logs, not the general log export under the File menu)

We do support LVM on the source, but as the previous responder noted they will not be preserved in the target.

The conversion should have modified the grub line that has "root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00" to point to /dev/sda1 (or something like that, wherever the root filesystem is located).
