VM Forum Team,
I have attempted on 5 separate attempts to convert a P2V machine using a hot back up ( due to encrypted disk).
Each time it fails with the following error code: FAILED: Unable to create a VSS snapshot of the source volume(s). Error code: 2147754774 (0x80042316)...
I have tried the following remediation steps to accomplish a work around:
- Selective startup eliminating all non-core services
- Re-register of VSS components
- Login of local admin / Run converter as admin
- Clear registry of sub VSS backup items
- Disable all antivirus
At this point I am look for any further recommendations.
Specs:
- Converter 5.1 - 875114
- Host OS Win 7 SP1 32 bit on NTFS (w/ Sophos Encryption)
- Image size 320 GB
Advice would be appricated.. the log is attached to this msg.
* Follow on question, could I use MS backup to create a system image and then convert that to VDMK?*
