NT4 keeps booting after converting

Hey

I have convertet a NT4 to a ESX, and that worked just fine.

But when i boot the NT4 is starts ok, but after 3 sec at the login window, it just reboots ...

Any one have an idea about whats could be wrong ?

Have checked that the NT4, does not what "boot on error" on.

It could be a service that is hardware-dependent and is failing after it is getting loaded. Try booting up in the recovery console.

You can try booting off a Windows 2000 CD on your NT4 machine, or use an NT4 recovery disk.

I've seen this where there was UPS software installed on the physical box and when the OS on the VM comes up it cant find the UPS it shutsdown. Had to bring up in Safe mode and uninstall the software.

If you know what the driver file in question is, you can try mounting your unusable NT4 VM's virtual disk to a functional NT4 VM and traverse the system32 directory to locate and remove the problematic driver so that it does not get loaded.

I'm having the same issues here:

It's been years since I troubleshot anything with NT. I've gotten spoiled with PnP. Whats the best way to determine what driver is causing the fail?
