NT4 P2V sits @ 2 percent

Hi

having awful issues with conversion of an NT4 sp6a physical box using converter started to esx 3.5 from what I can see in the logs issue seems to be related to snapshot, am following usual process

- all non ms servces disabled

- logged on using local admin account

- converter installed locally

- have rebooted after install

any ideas greatly appreciated log file is attached but here is small sample

(Re)Start waiting for property updates from BlockLevelVolumeCloning::task

Unable to get fileextents for
?\STC_SnapShotBasic_Volume_21_0
hibernat.sys. Error: 2

Unable to get fileextents for
?\STC_SnapShotBasic_Volume_21_0

Unable to get bad blocks extents for

the log file doesn't have any jobs in it, which would be denoted as a for job 1.

since converter is installed locally, use the File Menu > Export logs to get the whole set.

that'll at least help.

Common failures @ 2% include:

port 902 being blocked for data transfer from source to destination

bad name resolution (update local hosts file to include the esx target)

Running a "chkdsk /F" from a command line and rebooting never hurts before a p2v either.

adding logs again, port 902 is open you can see vm been created in the virtual infrastructure client, working off of IP addresses so dns not coming in to it

Are the disks formatted NTFS or FAT?

Could not find any errors in your last task on that log file. However I did see this which looks like you cancelled the task.

Failed to cancel task

Session closed

Remote task CloneTask::task failed to complete: vmodl.fault.RequestCanceled

ufad-p2v service stopped

Can you be specific to how it failed?
