Live V2V Conversion from VMware Infrastructure 2.5 to vSphere 4.0 failed?

Hi Expters,

we have an Environment installed vmware infrastructure 2.5 with esx3.5 servers, and vmware vSpere 4.0. the older version setup is running many VM and the requireemnt is to perform live virtual machines migration form VI3 to vSphere.

When attempting to start V2V live migartion we are recieving the following errors, how ever the cold migration (source vm is suspended or powered off) is working fine.

Please note that this has variified that the required port has open between the source and target machines.

Regardless the connection issues, why don't you do the offline convertion?

Online you need to stop the services anyway, stop the old VM and start the new which means there will be downtime.

Yes it has been tried with different host but the error is same.

Yes theOFFLINE V2V we are doing right now, and it is working fine, but my interst it to knowing the reason for Live V2V errors.could you help??

Are you running any kind of firewall inside that vm?

Yes we are running TrendMicro Office scan suit agent inside the VM. I remembered that before doing V2V I stop the trendmicro services..

My Geuss is that the TrendMicro is blocking the V2V to complete successfully.

Remember

that disabling a antivirus package is not as simple as just disabling

the services, they are specificly designed that way otherwise a virus

could just script the services to stop and then do whatever it wants.

What I would try, "if possible" is to uninstall Trend before you V2V to

verify this. (Make a snapshot) I know it is not always possible to

"test" on production machines

What Win OS is running on these VMs?
