Is converter license tied to user profile?

I enabled the enterprise license on converter under my profile...when someone else logged into the same workstation the license feature was diasabled and I had to go back in aqnd enable the license.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Did you power down the VMs before the storage?

Check if the licence is mentioned here

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VMware, Inc.

if yes - create a patch and run it for every user - or put the entry here

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.

What profile was used to install Converter initially?

It was a regular user profile. We have tested this with several user accounts and each time a different user logged in the license feature had to be enabled, but once enabled there were not any problems when the user logged in again

We've run into the same problem. Haven't found a solution.

It's definetly tied to profile. Has anyone worked around this problem and if so how?

Thanks!

There is also no information in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.

OK, it looks like the license is per user based on the file p2vlcns. If you put that in the users \Application Data\Vmware directory it will work. Automating that is not a problem but I am confused why this functions this way...

What happens when you install as administrator and run as users, rather than install as user and run as other users?

Same thing. We manually put the license file into the all users profile. This works but it's still a strange set up...
