How to do P2V conversion of LInux Machine

Hi ,

I am using Vsphere 4.0 environment . i have done P2V of 20 windows machine successfully. Now It is time for 20 Linux physical machine which are redhat 4 and above.

Can any body tell me how can i perform the P2V for Linux Machines.

Hi Ravi,

You can use VMware Converter (now called vCenter Converter: ). Depending on your Linux flavour, you can do hot or cold P2Vs. Have a look at the documents for limitations.

The conversion failed with VMware converter 3.0.3 enterprise - unsupported OS (or something similar)

I installed the standalone version of converter on the linux box and the hot clone worked fine.
