I am currently trying to convert Win7 PC to VM and loading it onto a External Hard Drive. How am I getting a response error? I ran as admin and am supposed to be connecting to the same device......

The most interesting log, worker's one, is missing. You can find it in "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone\logs" folder and upload here.

There is no folder with a logs folder.

Seems that worker service crashes, are there some .dmp files in folder?

Also please check for worker's dmp files according Drwtsn32 on Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008/Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2 – Yong Rhee's Microso...

Hopefully dump files will give us a clue what's happens.

We had same issue for P2V for Windows 2008 R2

class Vmacore::Http::MalformedHeaderException(Server closed connection after 0 response bytes read; <io_obj p:0x03303ea4, h:2648, <pipe '\\.\pipe\vmware-converter-worker-soap'>, <pipe '\\.\pipe\vmware-converter-worker-soap'>>)

Solution: Check disks, uncheck null disks while creating P2V or V2V job, in our case we found 200 MB & 128 MB, verified disk management from physical server, 128 MB disk not exists, unchecked that 128 MB Disk, P2V job completed, conversion completed successfully.
