I'm converting a Win2k server machine and about 5mins into the conversion I get the following error:
Task: Convert physical machine.
Created the virtual machine '----
'.
Starting block-level cloning for volume 'C:'.
Error: Failed to clone volume 'C:'.
The only reason I can see this failing is because the C: drive is a local mirror of the F: drive. Unfortunately, when the vCenter Converter came up it didn't give me an option to virtualize the F: drive. Similarily, our
drive is a local mirror of the G: drive and only the
drive is showing up on vCenter Converter.
Does anyone have any idea why this error is occurring.
Thanks so much!
Regards,
- William
I hope you use Converter 3.0.3 and not 4.*

I just started the conversion process again (no changes made) and it seems to be running fine. It's been running for 17 mins now whereas before it failed after 5mins. Any idea what would cause the aforementioned error? And if the conversion process completes with no errors should I be worried?
Have you tried to install converter stand alone on your server and run the process locally?

Yea I'm thinking about doing that as a last resort. I have about 10 servers I need to virtualize and this is the first one; I'll see how the others go. I have a feeling it's the drive mirroring - a lot of sites are telling you to break the mirrors to prep for virtualization. I'll keep you guys updated!
