Can you please attach the vmware-converter log files from the source system?

it should be located in %systemroot%\temp\vmware-temp\

Items of note:

- Upgrade from 3.0.2u1 to 3.0.3

- As mentioned above, check for networking setting problems per the document.

- do a full check disk for errors ... i've seen the error be backwards ... there was a timeout reading ... not writing

I have a similar problem, but vmware converter give me this error when it try to preparing the virtual machine.

I'm using the Vmware Workstation 7.1.4.

In attach my log.

- which OS do you want to import
- which Converter version do you use

I'm trying to virtualize a 2000 server os machine.

I'm using vm-converter v.6.5.0.8870

for Windows 2000 you need Converter 3.0.3
and you need to have servicepack 4 installed on the physical machine

best chances:
make sure you have servicepack 4
install Converter 3.0.3 directly on the physical machine
reboot physical machine
start Converter and import "this machine"

I found the vcenter converter 3.0.3.

I can use it to import machine in vmware workstation too?
