Converting Microsoft Virtual PC

I cannot get VMconverter to recognise my existing virtual PC which seems to be a .vhd image file.

How do I convert this? I have installed VMWare Player and converter but neither recognised this file extension.

Try using the standalone converter that should work.

Else why dont you use Starwind converter which can convert any format disk to any format (meant vhd to vmdk, ovf etc)

Excuse my ignorance but is the standalone converter different than the VM converter I downloaded?

I will have a search for this Starwind one as well tomorrow to see if that will do the job.

Thanks

Standalone converter is almost same but with minor tweaks....

I have used it and Starwind works ....you can also try....

.vhd is extension for virtual hard disk

you need to point Converter to .vmc file (VM settings)

No conversion seems to be recognised by either converter.

Have created a .tib file via Acronis and now trying to open via VMPlayer.

Seems to have been doing nothing for last hour! Could not see any vmc file anywhere to point to. I seem to be missing the point but anything I convert has a non recognised extension and I am not hopwful about the VMplayer opening the .tib file but will leave it running a bit longer.

Left the VMPlayer running for 4 hours in loading a .tib file and it just sat at the splash screen.

Appears no way to convert a Microsoft Virtual PC?
