It took me a while to figure this out but if you're trying to convert a HP system with teamed nics, you'll need to break the team and untrunk the pSwitch ports before you can start your cold conversion process. The HP teaming utility makes changes to the nic bios so that you won't be able to get network connectivity using converter 3 boot cd. Have fun converting.
