Greetings
I am having an issue where I all attempted P2V/V2V are failing upon entering source machine credentials with the error:
“Unable to contact the specified host. The host might not be available on the network, there might be a network configuration problem, or the management services on this host are not responding."
Seeing as how we have isolated a test case to produce this failure when the machine running Converter standalone (vCenter VM) and the source machine are both on the same network and same host, it would not seem to me this has anything to do with a network configuration or performance issue. In this test case all communications would occur within the host.
That would then leave a possible "management services" issue or something non-descript issue in the environment. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts? We have validated all Windows firewall settings and services on both Converter and host machines.

Have you tried restarting the management agents on the specific target host ? Information on how to do this can be found in this KB.

Source and destination are in same network ?
Check if host vmware have register on dns with FQDN.
Check if don´t have firewall behind source and destination
