I'd like to convert a Windows 8 partition to a virtual disk. However I only see compatibility withi WS 8. Will converte rwork with WS 9 or just make the VM to be created using WS 8 virtual hardware?
WS 9 will run machine suitable for WS 8. After conversion you can modify VM in WS 9 including upgrade of the hardware version. HTH
